Business Development Officer


Job Title: Business Development Officer


Reporting To: Director of Business Development 


Job Purpose

To assist with the analysis, assessment and viability of new business initiatives and to work closely with the Business Development Manager to execute projects related to the overall growth and development of the Company.



Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Works closely with the Business Development Manager to evaluate business ideas by conducting research and providing financial and management information analyses, reports and recommendations
  • Assists with the preparation of viable bids/proposals for incremental growth and new business across the Company
  • Performs analysis of cash flow, cost controls, and expenses to guide new business initiatives
  • Assists with competitor analysis and gathers relevant competitor information and market intelligence
  • Acts as project manager to ensure successful integration of new business initiatives into the day to day business, as required
  • Establishes and maintains strong professional relationships with key decision-makers and current and prospective customers and suppliers
  • Works with the Business Development Manager on strategic projects as required
  • Maintains an up to date database / filing / storage system of all Business Development contacts and activities ensuring easy reference and retrieval
  • Assists with the preparation and presentation of professional proposals to key stakeholders as required
  • Assists with communication activities as required
  • Performs other duties that may be required to enhance the operations of the Company


Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related discipline
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar position
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
